COLONOSCOPY MODEL

Design and fabrication of a bespoke, realistic and one-off colonoscopy training model made from reinforced intrinsically coloured silicones and other materials. The model was required to have the characteristics and proportions of an adult male patient lying on his left side, consisting of the skin, buttocks and anus and incorporating the thighs, part of the back and curve of the abdomen. The model needed to include an openable anus capable of accommodating the entire length of a flexible colonoscopy camera. No other internal or external features, anatomy, mechanics or details, including the patient’s genitals and other organs were required. This particular model was required at very short notice and was ready from ordering to installation within just one week.
