The purpose of the model was to demonstrate how to clip various bleeds within the abdomen of a patient who has suffered some kind of traumatic injury for the purposes of team training and assessment. The model contained four hidden bleeding points within the abdomen which trainees were given the task of gaining control of through four quadrant packing, clipping and tying off. The model also contained a fast filling bleed to suggest a serious haemorrhage.
