RESTERNOTOMY SKILLS TRAINING MODEL

This project was a follow-on from the high fidelity cardiac tamponade model we made previously for SPRinT.
The brief was to design and make a fully functional prototype resternotomy model suitable for benchtop training which was easily transportable and low-cost to manufacture, thus making it more available to the wider market. It was to be modular with easily replaceable parts including a low-cost silicone skin, linea alba, heart and retractable sternum.
The structural elements of this project were expertly designed and managed by Duncan Fitzsimons of 7th London.
